We have re-thought the future of the church, that is why we exist. We believe every student should have the opportunity to be a part of a positive life-changing generational Community that is exciting, fun, adventurous and full of Gods presence. Whatever setting Sequoyah Youth is in, we offer a multi-faceted, interactive and creative youth program that is designed specifically for students (UL68 - Middle and UL912 - High school). We reach an eclectic mix of students and families with multi-ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds representing our city. This reflects our Bay Area’s depth of diversity. We do our best to translate the Gospel in a way that youth experience Jesus practically and powerfully. We desire for students to translate the gospel to the communities in which they are apart of daily. We value people. We rely on Holy Spirit. The Gospel still changes everything because Jesus changes us.
Faith: Faith is the essential foundation in which we preach + teach + develop all of our programs + events. Everything we do revolves around the gospel. Our framework is set up to help move youth and their families into a healthy relationship with God + Each other.
We leverage the Gospel through creative and interactive youth topics and workshops. Our faith should impact every area of our life. Our Student Ministries are pract-spiritual helping teens put some wheels on their faith. We are presence driven and desire to walk WITH God.
Mentor // Tribes: Developing leaders on a mentorship level. We disciple in groups of 4-7 and in a small group setting 20-25. This allows students the space to ask questions and “solidify” their faith while growing in the necessary spiritual + life skills that they can use in everyday life. Through relationship, youth workers journey with students through real life: giving wisdom, listening and leading by example. In addition, our students are apart of the servant leadership & creative team, learning the value of serving.
Expression: Expression is the reflection of our creator. Students are encouraged to use expression and their creative gifts as an outlet to communicate hope. We offer opportunities to serve where they are wired.
Community: Community is a village. It takes a village to help raise healthy youth and support families. It takes a community to build relationships. We are intentional to create space that allows generations to feel like and be family.
Give Back: Give Back is engaging the Community. We develop sustainable partnerships and give teens & families opportunity to give back through hands on projects (outreach). We encourage families to live missionally: at home, school and in the market place. Within Giveback our focus is outreach- locally, in the United States and Abroad. We Giveback with our finances and our hands.
